Switch to SaleTick

Move your inventory to SaleTick without typing it all again.

SaleTick lets you move your products, stock levels, customers and customer debts from another inventory system, an Excel or CSV file, a PDF, or photos of a paper stock book, using a guided import: choose your file, match your columns, review every row, then import. Nothing is saved until you press Import, and an admin can undo an import within 7 days.

What you can import into SaleTick

Bring over the two things that take the longest to type in by hand: your goods and your customers.

Products and stock

Product names, selling price, cost price, quantity in stock, barcode and category.

Customers and debts

Your customer list with phone numbers and the money each customer still owes you.

Import from Excel, CSV, PDF or a photo

If your records exist anywhere, you can get them into SaleTick. Supported files: .xlsx, .csv, .pdf, .jpg, .jpeg and .png.

Excel and CSV

Export your list from your old inventory or POS software, or use your own spreadsheet. .xlsx and .csv files both work.

PDF

Have your stock list or customer ledger as a PDF? Upload it and SaleTick reads the rows out for you to review.

Photos of paper books

Photograph your stock book or debt ledger. SaleTick reads the page and shows every row so you can correct anything it could not read.

How to import your data, step by step

Open SaleTick, go to Settings, and choose “Import your data”.

  1. 1

Choose what you are bringing over

Pick "Products and stock" or "Customers and what they owe".

  2. 2

    Upload your file

Upload an Excel (.xlsx) or CSV file, a PDF, or photos of your paper stock book or ledger. You can add up to 10 photos at once.

  3. 3

    Match your columns

SaleTick reads your headings and matches them to its own fields automatically. You check each match and change any that is wrong.

  4. 4

    Review every row

See your data row by row before anything is saved. Fix a row, skip it, or skip everything already in SaleTick.

  5. 5

    Press Import

Your products, stock levels, customers and debts are added in one go. If it was a mistake, an admin can roll the import back within 7 days.

Not sure how to lay out your file? Use the “Download a sample spreadsheet” button on the import page for a ready-made template.

A safe move: review first, undo if needed

Switching systems should not put your records at risk.

  • Nothing is saved until you say so

You review every row first. Nothing reaches your business until you press Import.

  • Check your totals

Type the totals from your old system and SaleTick compares them with what it read, so you know nothing went missing.

  • Skip what you already have

Items already in SaleTick are flagged so you do not create duplicates.

  • Undo within 7 days

If an import was a mistake, an admin can roll it back from Import history within 7 days.

  • Choose the branch

Admins pick which branch the stock and debts belong to. Managers import into their own branch.

Importing into SaleTick: common questions

How do I move from another inventory management software to SaleTick?
Export your products and customers from your old software as an Excel (.xlsx) or CSV file, open SaleTick, go to Settings and choose "Import your data", then upload the file. SaleTick matches your columns, shows every row for you to review, and imports only when you press Import.
Can I import products into SaleTick from Excel or CSV?
Yes. Upload an .xlsx or .csv file with your product names, prices, quantities, barcodes and categories. SaleTick matches your column headings to its own fields automatically, and you can correct any match before importing.
Can I import from a PDF or photos of my paper stock book?
Yes. Upload a PDF, or up to 10 photos of your stock book or debt ledger. SaleTick reads the pages and shows every row so you can fix anything it misread before it is saved. Handwriting can be misread, so always check the rows against your paper.
Can I import my customers and what they owe me?
Yes. Choose "Customers and what they owe" and upload a file with customer names, phone numbers and balances. You can also add a single opening balance by hand for one customer.
Will importing create duplicate products?
SaleTick flags items that already exist so you can skip them. There is a one-click option to skip everything that is already in SaleTick.
What if I import the wrong file by mistake?
Nothing is saved until you review the rows and press Import. If an import still turns out to be a mistake, an admin can roll it back from Import history within 7 days.
Do I need an internet connection to import?
Yes. Reading and checking your file happens on SaleTick servers, so importing needs an internet connection. Once your data is in, SaleTick keeps working offline.
Is there a sample file I can start from?
Yes. The import page has a "Download a sample spreadsheet" button that gives you a ready-made template for products or for customers and debts.
